Perez de Vecchi Milano was conceived by Federica Vecchi and Gaia Perez, two goldsmiths and jewelry designers, brought together by a shared vision of beauty and a passion for an ancient technique of working with precious metals: lost wax casting.
Federica and Gaia first crossed paths in the workshops of the Ambrosiana Goldsmith School.
From that moment, a partnership blossomed, wherein craftsmanship and manual skill became the language through which to convey the philosophy that binds them—a philosophy rooted in the freedom to transform, to narrate one’s own story, and to recognize imperfection as a natural, unique, and distinctive trait.

Our fascination extends beyond jewelry to the marvels of the world and the stories around us.

The lost-wax casting technique is an extremely ancient practice, dating back to 3000 B.C., which requires a very high level of artisanal skill.
Initially, a wax model is created for each individual piece of jewelry, aiming to make it as faithful as possible to the desired result.
If gemstones are involved, they too are embedded in the wax.
Subsequently, the model is placed inside a cylinder with inlet and outlet holes.
First, cold liquid plaster is poured in from the inlet hole, enveloping the wax model, followed by the incandescent molten metal which, upon contact with the wax, melts it and makes it flow out from the lower hole, taking its place.
This process encases the gemstones, embedding them deeply and naturally in the metal, thus creating the final piece of jewelry which is then smoothed and polished.

The lost-wax casting requires many hours of work, especially in defining the details of the wax model, and the final result presents a fascinating level of unpredictability, albeit minimal. This is what makes each Perez De Vecchi jewelry piece absolutely unique.
